PRESS NOTE
The 33rd meeting of the State-Level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority held here today under the Chairmanship of Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, accorded clearance to 18 more proposals having an investment of Rs. 3100 crore and generating employment to 6,438 persons and the major investor had been Solaryan Technologies which would be producing thin film silicon solar panel with the investment of Rs. 2400 crore, M/S Indorama Industries which has proposed to invest Rs. 400 crore in the state besides other prestigious industrial houses like Pidilite Industries, Medi-tech Garments, Advantage Organic Naturals Technologies and Crew BOS Products etc..
Chief Minister said that a large number of investors had shown interest in investing in Himachal Pradesh after the announcement of the Special Industrial Package announced by the then Prime Minister, Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee and total investment had soared to over Rs. 30 thousand crore. He said that due to misrepresentation of the case by the previous Congress Government, the package had been reduced upto the year 2010 and the state government was vigorously pursuing the matter at the highest level in the Government of India to provide state industrial sector concessions upto the original year of 2013 announced by former Prime Minister to all the Special Category States. He said that Himachal Pradesh was late comer in the industrial development and had not wasted all the years and created basic infrastructure to invite investors to the state since land, power and other required essentials were available to them instantly. He said that the motive behind constitution of the State Level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority was to provide a common platform to all the concerned departments to give its clearance to the industrial proposals so that no time was wasted in dealing with all related departments separately.
Prof. Dhumal said that the state government would be considering authorization to the Director of Industries to apply for permission to purchase the land under Section 118 on behalf of the approved industrial units so that all such investors were saved of their valuable time to start construction work of the proposed unit to start production on priority. He said that the state government would be issuing notices to the non-serious investors which had been granted formal approval for setting up of the units and had not shown results on the ground, providing them one more opportunity whereafter the allotment and approval would be cancelled and allotted to other serious investors. He said that a labour officer would be posted in Baddi to motivate the youth to.
